Why Writing?
Hi. You’ve reached the blog of Rose Q. Addams, scribbler.
If you’re here, you’re probably wondering a few things.
- Who is this person?
- Why should I read what she has to say?
- Is she nuts?
I’ll do my best to answer you.
- I’m a storyteller. Always have been. Hopefully, always will be. I’m also the daughter of the King of All Kings, a dreamer, the second of seven siblings, and to answer question 3, yes, I’m slightly crazy. It’s all the characters running around in my head. You’d hear voices, too. (No, not literal voices. Don’t take me that seriously, heavens…)
- You should read what I have to say if you like a good story. Or a weird one. I have lots of ideas for both, and I hope to share them with the world. In the meantime, I hope to acquire extra practice and have some fun along the way.
So why writing?
I write because I love to create. I write to share my ideas and loves, or just to try and see something from a different angle. When I was younger, I explored visionary worlds and different perspectives through pages that others had written. I want to do that for someone else.
I’m also starting this as… a bit of accountability, to be fully honest. Life is often so busy that I sacrifice my writing for something else. And some of them are worth it! (Six siblings, totally worth it. Job? Also worth it. Volunteer work: again, valuable time spent. But I find myself spending time on other things that I’ll wish I had skipped in 5 years, or ten or twenty.) So this is a weekly refocus, and hopefully an encouragement to greater and higher goals.
So I hope you’ll join me for as much of this crazy ride as you’d like.
Carpe Diem! Soli Deo Gloria!
